Mullen, known for his ball winning ability and simple play, was a catalyst to Rockhurst Universities' back-to-back run to the NCAA D2 Final Four. During his final season he was honored with numerous accolades including, CCA All-America Honorable Mention, CCA First Team All-Region and GLVC First Team All Conference in 2017.

Typically deployed as a #6, Mullen has the ability to break up almost anything thrown at him. Solid in the air and in the tackle, he has good intuition in the team attack, finding pockets of space to help play out of pressure.
