Grant Elgin is a physical presence on the pitch at any of the positions he can be deployed in. Elgin has the size and physicality for center back, but also is technical enough for midfield and has the pace and service for outside back. Elgin can facilitate play and start attacks playing out from the back thanks to his passing range and ability to win ground duels at any of his favored positions. Solid in all positions, he was a valuable contributor to Northeastern over the last two seasons including a 2019 where he started and played in every game for his university playing in the most minutes on the roster.
